RICHLAND, Wash. - A new KOHL's department store had its grand opening Wednesday in Richland.
As soon as employees cut the ribbon, eager shoppers stormed the store. The store manager said the Richland KOHL's is more open than other stores and is geared to a modern lifestyle.
Shoppers said they're glad to have it in the Tri-Cities.
"I love it. I've been waiting for over a year for a KOHL's to come," said Chris Coburn, shopper from Pasco.
"It's nice to have another department store with quality men's clothing and some other options to choose from," said Jerry Beach, shopper from Kennewick.
"I used to shop at one all the time in Pennsylvania and I'm very thrilled it's in our area," said Julie Tiemens, shopper from Richland.
Although Wednesday marked the grand opening, the new KOHL's first opened its doors on Sunday.
The store has just under 200 employees. It's located on Tapteal Drive.
