Artist recreates face of unidentified murdered girl

YAKIMA, Wash -- The identity of a woman found murdered in an apple orchard near Moxee on September 17th has baffled police, but now they have a rough idea of what she looked like.

Police believe the young girl found almost three weeks ago, was between 14-17 years old, but her body was so badly burnt, age was about all they could use to identify her.

However, a forensic artist from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, using pictures from the crime scene, has re-constructed what the young girl looked like.

The photo is just a rough estimate of how she might have appeared.

Police believe her hair was brown, but dyed red, but they have no idea how she wore her hair.

However, investigators are hopeful having a rough idea of what she looked like, will lead to someone identifying her.

If you have any information, contact the Yakima Sheriff's Office at (509) 574-2500.
