Richland High Comes Together for 5 Sisters

RICHLAND, Wash. -- The Richland High School community came together to help five girls in need.

Hundreds of students, parents, and friends came to a spaghetti feed. The Brower girls lost both of their parents to cancer: their father five years ago and their mother this summer.

The girls were there, but school officials say they are very private, and asked not to be identified or interviewed on-camera.

Football/basketball coach Kevin Norris says, "There's a lot of people out there willing to help. But the girls will never ask. You really gotta go to the girls and ask what can we do for ya."

Friend Rachel Dittmer says, "They're the nicest kids ever and their very thankful for everything we've done."

Two of the girls go to Richland High and three have already graduated.

Almost $10,000 was raised at tonight's dinner and the money will go towards bills the girls have to pay as they continue to try and live together.
