YAKIMA, Wash - After months of road work, historic Front Street in Yakima is finally open again.
It was closed earlier this summer to traffic so constrcution workers could rip up the old black top surface, and replace it with historic looking red bricks -- transforming it back to the way it looked 100 years ago.
Local businesses decided to make the change to attract more tourists and set the street apart from other streets downtown.
Businesses remained open during the work, but many said they suffered while the work was going on.
According to construction workers, it will be two or three weeks before everything is completely finished.
