Search for Suspects in Two Toppenish Shootings, Police Say Gang-Related
TOPPENISH, Wash.- Shots are fired in two separate places in Toppenish, leaving one man hospitalized. Toppenish police are looking for suspects in what they are calling two gang related crimes.
The first was a drive-by shooting that happened just before midnight on Saturday on the 100 block of 'H' Street in Toppenish. Witnesses told police they saw an older gray colored Buick or Lincoln car fleeing the area. Luckily, no one was injured during the drive by, but a number of properties were damaged.
The second shooting happened about two and a half hours later. This time police say a 24-year-old man was shot in his lower back on the 400 block of South Alder Street in Toppenish. He was transported to Memorial Hospital in Yakima and is listed in critical condition. Witnesses told police they saw the same gray colored Buick or Lincoln car as the first shooting and say two suspects were inside. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Toppenish Police.
