NEAR WHITE PASS, Wash. - Seven of the 10 people onboard the Cessna 208 that crashed near White Pass have been found dead.
Part of the plane was found about 7:40 Monday night, near Rimrock Lake. The Tacoma Mountain Rescue Team had been smelling fuel, the smell lead them to the missing aircraft. The tail section was separated from the rest of the plane and haasn't been found.
There were 10 people on the plane, nine skydivers and a pilot who were flying from Boise, Idaho to Shelton, Washington.
Sunday night, a hunter reported seeing a low-flying aircraft, then hearing a crash. Yakima County Search and Rescue is arranging for removal of the bodies.
The FAA and NTSB have been notified. Recovery efforts will continue Tuesday morning.
