World Go-Kart Champs Live in Tri-Cities

KENNEWICK, Wash.--They didn't compete against each other because they are on the same team. Both Manthei and Carpenter are drivers for Kart Sport Northwest.

And here are the faces of champions. 8-year old David Manthei and 11-year old Artie Carpenter.

Don't let these innocent faces fool you, these guys want to win. During the Tag World Finals, they competed against 15 kids across North America in the eight to 12-year-old category. Manthei and Carpenter says racing go-karts is fun, especially when its with friends.

"It's so much fun," mentions Carpenter. I've done it since I was seven. I've enjoyed it ever since."

"It's fun to race because you get to race with all your friends," says Manthei.

For winning, both the boys were presented with eagle statues made out of bronze. Both the Manthei and Carpenter families wish to thank Atomic Screen Printing, Perfection Glass, and Ken Bowman for all their support.
