PASCO, Wash. -- Columbia Basin College leaders are encouraging people to not only get their GED but to continue on and pursue a higher education.
Leaders say one in four non-hispanic adults in the Tri-Cities have less than a 9th grade education. Thursday night, leaders were providing information on how to pursue higher education on limited funds, and for those who don't speak English well.
CBC's Adan Suarez says, "Many individuals don't know the possibilities that lay in front of them. It might be just as easy as applying to CBC and not knowing about how to go about doing that."
Along with providing information on various programs and financial aid, Thursday night's meeting allowed people to win one of three scholarships.
