FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. - Congressman Doc Hastings claims he's confident a bill will pass that could to make it easier to get to recreational area, Juniper Dunes.
Hastings said the bill allows the Bureau of Land Management to sell some its land. He said the B.L.M. could use the money to buy roads to other B.L.M. areas, including Juniper Dunes.
Right now access to Juniper Dunes goes through private property.
So far the bill just passed a committee in the House of Representatives.
"I'm pleased the committee has moved the bill up. We'll work hard to get it to pass Congress," said U.S. Representative Doc Hastings, (R) 4th District.
Hastings said the next move for the bill is to go to the House floor. He said it should scheduled for that within the next few weeks.
