KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Fever were hoping to make an announcement tomorrow on coach Tony Wells, but now it looks like that won't happen. A team spokesman has just told our Scott Reister that the Fever will delay making that decision for the time being.
We'll have to wait a bit longer, to see if the team brings back Coach Wells, who has two outstanding warrants in Kentucky and Florida. The team has previously stated that if Wells has to leave for an extended period of time to handle his legal matters, they would need to go in a different direction. A decision should come soon because the Fever have tryouts in two weeks.
Wells was arrested last sunday when police found he had two out of state warrants. Wells maintains his innocence. He did not return our calls today.
