Crash Survivor Happy to See Case Go to Trial

KENNEWICK, Wash.- A survivor of the Fred Russell crash says it's been a long six years waiting for Russell's trial.

Sameer Ranade survived the 2001 crash that killed three of his friends.

Since then he's seen Russell flee to Ireland, and he says, a lack of remorse on Russell's part.

Ranade is expected to testify in Fred Russell's trial next week.

"It's been six years now so it's been a while, but I think you know when I actually go to court, then, it'll probably be a lot of different emotions that'll probably come up and I'll probably relive a lot of the experience from that night," he said.

Ranade almost died in the crash, but survived after hours of surgery at a Pullman hospital.
