Pruning trees helps to keep them upright and saves money in the long run
Yakima, WA - Friday, October 19th
A wind advisory for Central Washington has been canceled, but it's a good reminder for homeowners to check their trees.
Senske Lawn and Tree Care says that pruning your trees will them stand up better to the wind.
It's really important to do this with evergreens because they have shallow roots.
"Well, pruning is a lot less expensive than removing it," says Joe Aillis of Senske Lawn and Tree Care, "And usually after a storm comes through and blows your tree down, it's going to be removed. So it's going to cost you a little more if its pruned."
If you are looking for a local tree service, a good test question to ask is will they top your trees. If they say yes, call someone else. Topping your trees will only weaken them in the long run.
