Freeman Pleads Not Guilty

SPOKANE, Wash. -- A local man once listed in the top 15 of the U.S. Marshals Most Wanted List faced federal charges Friday in Spokane.

Ken Freeman returned Thursday from Hong Kong to face several charges for raping his daughter and posting the pictures online. A federal judge entered a not guilty plea for Freeman and ordered him to be held without bond.

He was originally arrested in 2005 but then was let out on bond. After he failed to appear in court in March of 2005, investigators say he took off to China. But in May, he was arrested in Hong Kong after being listed as one of the US Marshals top fugitives.

The case was even featured on America's Most Wanted. Freeman is a former reserve Benton County Sherriff's Deputy.

After facing federal charges in Spokane, he will face charges for child rape in Benton County. One conviction for child pornography can carry a prison term of up to 20 years.
