Family and Friends Remember Shooting Victim in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Friends and family gathered in Kennewick Saturday to remember a man they say was a great friend, husband, and father.

About 500 friends and family of Michael Patrick Salazar talked about their favorite memories of the 27-year-old at First Baptist Church. Police say he was killed early Wednesday morning by a gunshot wound to the head. Friends say they can't believe Michael is gone.

Salazar's friend Tyson Brown says, "He won't be replaced. He's a very kindhearted person, a loyal husband, just a great friend."

And friend Michael Pugh says, "What happened to him, he's one of the people that doesn't deserve what happened to him. It's a terrible situation."

Jonathan Gannon was arrested for 2nd degree murder in the case but posted $25,000 bail and was released.

Prosecutors still haven't filed charges against Gannon as the case is still being investigated. But, friends of Michael Salazar say they just miss their friend being around.
