    OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. - The Crescent Mountain fire in Okanogan County is now approaching 20,000 acres, forcing some evacuations Friday. The fire now sits at 19,747 acres. Containment was originally reported at 37 percent in Wednesday's update, and the current estimation is unclear but believed to be in the mid 30's.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Court documents are offering more details about a disturbing case of child abuse in Spokane. Investigators arrested 33-year-old Erik Sherman in the death of his baby Thursday. One doctor who witnessed the abuse told investigators in court documents it was "one of the worst cases of child abuse he had seen in 23 years of practice."

    Boyds fire near Kettle Falls up to 27 percent containment

    FERRY COUNTY, Wash. - Crews working on the Boyds Fire near Kettle Falls have made some more progress, with the fire at 27 percent containment on Friday. Thursday, firefighters made good progress on strengthening the fire lines along the southern perimeter, but crews were pulled from the northwest perimeter due to increased fire activity in heavy fuels and steep terrain.
