ISSAQUAH, Wash. - Republican Dino Rossi says he's running for Washington governor again to bring fresh air to state government.
He made the announcement this morning in Issaquah and scheduled another announcement ceremony for this afternoon in Spokane.
It's a rematch of the 2004 race that Rossi lost to Democrat Chris Gregoire by 133 votes after three counts and a court challenge.
Rossi calls her the "the governor for the government, not the governor for the people."
Rossi is the former state Senate budget chairman and a real estate investor who turned 48 last week.
Republicans haven't won the governor's office since John Spellman in 1980.
Gregoire is running for re-election, but doesn't plan to formally announce until after the 2008 legislative session. She has already raised $3 million for her campaign.
