Lawless Drive Provides Direct Access to Richland's Prime Commercial Area
RICHLAND, Wash.--Well, for one. Drivers can expect less headaches. Two, with the project done, getting onto Thayer and Aaron drive from the I-182 Wellsian Way off-ramp is a breeze.
Lawless drive is newly paved with slight curves that help accentuate it's hill foundation. It's a smooth ride as you enter one of Richland's prime commercial areas. Engineers say building the road was the easiest part of the project.
"We have federal dollars involved in this project so, going through the federal paperwork , getting environmental work completed for that," says Sheldon Williamson, Richland Civil Engineer II. We also had right of way issues that we had to get right away from Fred Meyer and McDonalds.
With those federal dollars, city crews will also add traffic signals on Wellsian Way where it intersects with Lee and Aaron . Sidewalks will also be added on both sides of Aaron drive from Wellsian Way down to Goethals.
