KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Along with making sure you don't drink and drive this Halloween, the Red Cross says watching out for your kids is another key to staying safe.

They say when you are out trick-or-treating you should have a flash light and that if possible, light colored clothing is best.

They also tell kids to take their candy outside and never go inside a person's house. Kennewick Police say when crossing streets or walking by busy roads, you should always watch out for kids.

Police also say to take a look at your children's candy before they eat it.
