SEQUIM, Wash. (AP) - One person was killed Sunday afternoon when a small plane crashed and burned near the Olympic Peninsula town of Sequim.
The single-engine Grumman Tiger crashed near some homes near the Diamond Point Airstrip shortly before 3 p.m.
Officials say the pilot was killed, and was the only person on board.
Witness Bill Henke tells KING-TV that he and his neighbors grabbed garden hoses to try to extinguish the fire.
