Find Out How Ballots Are Handled

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - On Tuesday, voters in Washington can get a first hand look at how ballots are handled in county elections offices.

Elections departments throughout the state are holding an "Election Expo".

People can come find out how ballots are processed, check out vote counting equipment, and see how auditors secure the information on each ballot.

Auditors said they want Washington voters to see how safe our state's election counting system really is.

"We actually really wanted people to just feel at ease with our process and be able to come and see what we do and how we do it," said Zona Lenhart, Franklin County Auditor.

Voters in Benton, Franklin, and Walla Walla county can come to the Franklin County Auditor's Annex Office located at 3rd and Clark in Pasco.

People can come anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. However you do need to schedule an appointment with Franklin County Auditor Zona Lenhart at 545-35-36.

Voters in Yakima can come to the Yakima County Courthouse located at 128 N. 2nd street in Yakima.  Also from 10 to 4.  For more information call Yakima County Auditor Corky Mattingly at 574-1405.
