Mattawa Man Died After A Head On Collision on State Route 24 Monday Night

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. - Washington State Patrol reported Monday night that 72-year-old Ralph Skinner died while driving on State Route 24.

Troopers said he was headed eastbound when he crossed over the centerline and collide with a 2007 Volvo tractor-trailer, headed westbound, driven by 59-year-old Charley F. Scrivner of Yakima.

It happened at two o'clock Monday afternoon on State Route 24, 31 miles east of Moxee near Hanford Barricades in Benton County.

Troopers said Skinner was pronounced dead at the scene.  His vehicle was towed from the scene.

Scrivner was allegedly not injured and his tractor-trailer was apparently driven from the scene.

Both drivers were reportedly wearing their seat belts.
