Fever to Name New Coach Thursday

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-Cities Fever will name a new head coach Thursday at 2:00 p.m.  They will not say who the hire is at this time.  Wyoming Calvary coach Dan Maciejczak says he was offered the job, but turned it down for family reasons. The Cavalry are now in the AIFA, but formerly were in the NIFL with the Fever.  Maciejczak said he believed the Fever's next choice was a coach from Everett. Cedric Walker coached the Everett Hawks last season. The Fever could not be reached late Tuesday to confirm Maciejczak's statement.

The team fired Tony Wells last Tuesday because of his uncertain legal future. Wells, however, says his legal issues could be over as early as Friday, and disputes that timing played a role in his firing. He doesn't like the way his dismissal was handled, but told KNDU's Scott Reister that he does wish the new coach best of luck.
