Pasco SAVE Students Celebrate "Day without Violence"
PASCO, Wash.- A group of Pasco High students join hands to spread a message against violence.
SAVE, or Students Against Violence Everywhere, wore orange and signed huge non-violence banners outside the school Wednesday.
They are drawing attention to school violence and encouraging schools to promote safer communities.
"We're having them sign petitions against violence and having all the students, community members, adults, everyone, and then sign the big poster so we can hang it up later," said Yvette Yzaguirre, President of PHS's Natural Helpers group.
The team estimates more than 1,000 petitions were signed.
They also placed orange ribbons on every fourth locker in the halls to signify the 25% of high school students who're victimized each year.
