KENNEWICK, Wash. - Public bathrooms are in the works for Downtown Kennewick.
The Executive Director for Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership, Timothy Dalton says they have been trying for three years to get restrooms near the intersection of Benton Street and Kennewick Avenue.
Bids for construction are expected to start in May.
Dalton said public bathrooms would attract more shoppers and make it easier for people to enjoy themselves while they visit Downtown Kennewick.
Dalton said many of the owners of the smaller retail shops said their businesses are not conducive for public restrooms. He said public bathrooms would make the downtown a lot more desirable.
He said plans were approved by city council in October and that 125,000 dollars was allotted for the project.
