Central Basketball Team to Host Meet the Wildcats Saturday
ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- (Nov. 1) Fans will have their first opportunity to meet the 2007-08 Central Washington University basketball teams this Saturday night at Nicholson Pavilion.
The women's and men's basketball teams will be introduced to fans prior to the men's exhibition game against Son's Blue Angels, which is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff. Admission to the game is free.
Central Washington's men's team features just two returning starters and five returning lettermen from its 2006-07 squad that finished 15-12 overall and in a tie for third place in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference standings (10-6 conference record). The Wildcats are projected to finish in a tie for fourth place in the GNAC this season.
With eight new faces in their program, the Wildcat women will be introduced to the public for the first time on Saturday night. Central, which was tabbed to finish seventh in the GNAC in its preseason coaches poll, will play an exhibition game at Eastern Washington next Wednesday (Nov. 7).
Both Wildcat basketball teams open their 2007-08 regular seasons on Nov. 16, with the CWU men hosting the first of two tournaments and the women traveling to Seattle Pacific for the Sodexho Tipoff Classic.
