KENNEWICK, Wash. - Two men were taken to Benton County Jail Sunday after police said they tried to scam an elderly man.

Kennewick Police report that 22-year-old Ricky Mitchell and 45-year-old Marc Martinelli told an 87-year-old man that they were going to do work to his roof on the 500 block of east 8th Avenue in Kennewick.

Police said they were going to use silver spray paint on the man's roof, but told the victim that it was special roof sealer.

Neighbors are upset that they are targeting elderly people.  Neighbor Jason Tullis said, "They're on a limited income as it is, to take advantage, that is just not good."

Kennewick Corporal Todd Dronen said, "There are a lot of people like this that will take advantage of anyone they can.  There is that element in society ... that go after those people that are most vulnerable."

Another victim told police that they had a similar experience with the two men about 10 days ago.

Police fear there could be more victims.

Contact authorities if you have any information.

The two men that were arrested also had unrelated warrants out of Clark County.
