Lots of questions, few answers in Yakima shooting

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash -- Police are trying to piece together the events that led to a gun fight between five men in the 1700 of Marsh Road Thursday night.

Investigators are calling it an attempted robbery but several neighbors told KNDO-TV they believe drug activity was common in the house where the shooting occurred.

Two Hispanic men were in the house watching TV when another Hispanic male kicked the door down. One of the men in the house grabbed a hand gun, and began shooting.

Another man outside the house, opened fire with a shot gun.

The two men inside managed to escape through a window, but not before they were shot.

Several minutes later, another Hispanic male stumbled into a gas station about a mile away.

Three men were taken to several area hospitals.

Investigators do not know why the gun battle began. They are not releasing names because the hospitals are concerned the violence may not be finished.

According to deputies, none of the injuries are considered life threatening.

Deputies say it will probably take several days to piece together what happened.
