Winds Send Some Hanford Workers Home Early Monday

HANFORD, Wash. - Strong winds sent workers at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation home Monday afternoon.

All non-essential Hanford employees North of the Wye Barricade were released from work at 2:30 p.m.

Only essential employees remained at work through the rest of the shift.

A workers said that the winds could be felt a lot stronger because fires that burned this summer wiped out much of the vegetation.
