ELLENSBURG, Wash -- The founder of one of Ellensburg's most successful companies died Sunday afternoon. Otto Keith "Poot" Williams passed way on Veterans day.
In 1948, after returning from World War II, "Poot" launched Pautzke Bait after buying a recipe for cooking salmon eggs for bait from his uncle for $50.00.
Over the next 60 year, the family owned company grew, and today is one of the most recognized bait and tackle companies in the US.
In recent years, they have moved into other areas of the fishing industry. Today the Pautzke is run by one of Poot's grandchildren.
