WALLA WALLA, Wash.- Veterans stand down day in Walla Walla gave many vets a chance to explore all the benefits that are available to them.
More than 200 Vets walked through the Walla Walla Armory's doors Wednesday.
Some were in search of a haircut, while others had hopes of getting a job.
Organizers of events say they brought in a number of different groups to try and present job options to vets.
The Corp of Engineers, Pacific Railroad, and the Walla Walla Worksource were just a few of the groups offering the chance of a new job.
Veterans say these services can be extremely helpful.
Especially for homeless veterans and if they go from here and do something with their lives improved, it's a success.
Organizers say already they have seen one homeless Vet get a job and that success stories like that are what make the event worth it.
