Kamiakin Students Suspended Not Expelled After Hearings With Parents

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The ruling is in for two of three students that got into trouble who were accused of making gang signs on their myspace pages.

Three teens were originally thrown out of Kamiakin High School for having pictures of themselves flashing the gang symbols on school property and wearing gang apparel.

The parent of one of the teens says her son will be allowed back to school on December 3, and said another student is suspended until November 26.

There is no hearing scheduled for the third student, but school officials said someone had picked up paper work for the student to schedule a hearing.

School officials didn't give any explanation as to why the punishment was changed from expulsion to suspension.
