YAKIMA, Wash.- A mix of rain and a few flakes of snow hit the Yakima Valley over the weekend. It was wet and slushy mess around town. The wet snow made it's way into west Yakima Sunday afternoon. Most other parts of town were hit with a second day of heavy rains. Drivers had to take it slower than usual since the roads were extra slick.
The second rainy day in a row caused some minor flooding on some of the local streets, but despite heavy rains, both the Yakima and Naches rivers remain well below the flood levels.
State patrol says it's important you take it slow during heavy rains and avoid driving through big puddles of standing water, they can make your car hydro-plane and lose control.
