Brockman Scores 26 as Huskies Defeat Eastern

SEATTLE, Wash - Jon Brockman scored 26 points today as the Washington Huskies downed Eastern Washington 75-64 in a non-conference game. Justin Dentmon added 16 points for the Huskies (3-0) while Eastern (1-3) was led by Adris DeLeon with 22.

Brockman made 13 of his 19 shot attempts. The Huskies' 6-foot-7 junior forward is averaging 23 points in three games. He averaged 14.2 last season. The Huskies, leading 45-27 at halftime, pushed the lead to 69-47 with 6:30 left. Brockman went to the bench for rest and within three minutes the lead was down to 10 points, at 71-61. He re-entered at the 3:15 mark and held the Huskies steady down the stretch.

Washington now travels to New York to play at Madison Square Garden in the NIT semifinals. The Huskies play Wednesday night against Texas A&M (3-0). Eastern, under first-year head coach Kirk Earlywine, will play in the Great Alaska Shootout, opening against Virginia Tech Nov. 21.
