KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-city Americans have some new blood, and these are fast guys. Rookies like Jason Reese and Johnny Lazo have mixed with veterans Colton Yellow Horn and Kriuse Reddick to form the highest scoring offense in the western conference,
The Ams have scored 86 goals through 22 games. They are 17-5 on the year, good for second place in the U.S. Division.
""We're a little bit faster than we were last year and it's paying off," said Yellow Horn. "That's how the new game is- a lot more about speed."
Yelloe Horn also mentioned the team has had more than their share of fighting penalties.
"At the same time, you got to have some big guys out there when stuff gets out of hand. We're a close knit team and everybody is stepping up for everybody when the time is right."
The Ams host Kelowna Wednesday night at the Toyota Center.
