Housing development offers hope to recovering addicts
YAKIMA, Wash - A new development in Yakima will provide 25 low income houses to people recovering from drug and alcohol addictions.
Pear Tree place, is the newest Next Step Housing Development. It provides a safe environment for recovering addicts to start a new life. Drugs and alcohol are not tolerated.
According to Diana McClaskey, a recovering Meth addict, and current manager of the new facility, escaping the old neighborhood and negative influences is key to moving from a life of drugs to a clean and positive life.
"We have a saying," said McClaskey, "if you do what you always did, you get what you always got."
