See if you have a share of the state's millions of dollars in unclaimed funds
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Department of Revenue reports that there is millions of dollars of unclaimed property unaccounted for.
Businesses must report unclaimed paychecks, desposits, refunds and dorment bank accounts by November 1st. And, a representative with the Department of Revenue says this type of situation is very common. They say that many people might have more money for holiday shopping then they realize.
The Department of Revenue's Mike Gowrylow says, "Businesses have been better about reporting the unclaimed property and we've been better about returning it to the rightful owners. There's still a lot more people who haven't claimed their property."
