KENNEWICK, Wash. -- An early morning crash is a good reminder of just how dangerous drinking and driving can be.
Neighbors say that a red Volkswagon Jetta was travelling east when it hit the back of a trailer. Tiffany Woodrome and her husband own the trailer and the three cars that were damaged.
It all happened early Sunday morning, right in front of Woodrome's house near 19th and Rainier Street in Kennewick.
Police say that the Jetta crashed into the trailer, causing heavy damage to the car on the trailer, the trailer itself, and two other vehicles.
Police say this accident was very preventable.
Sergeant Trevor White says, "A designated driver is the key to keep people safe, including yourself, and don't let your car burn."
Police say that the Jetta actually burst into flames and they say it was fully engulfed when the arrived. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The driver of the Jetta, 21-year-old Emanuel Madrigal, was arrested for dui.
