PASCO, Wash. -- A Pasco man will soon be heading to Long Beach, California to show off a dog that has been continually honored as one of the best in the country.
Next Saturday, professional dog handler Chris Larson will take a Norwich Terrier named Rocky to the AKC/Eukanuba National Purebred Dog Championships in Long Beach.
As a professional dog handler, Larson says he is excited at the chance to compete against some of the world's top handlers and dogs.
Larson says, "I really like the competition. It is addicting. It's really enjoyable. You go to a show with the same people, it's like a travelling circus, you see many different dogs all over the country."
Larson has a chance to bring home a piece of the $225,000 in cash and prizes that the Eukanuba Championship offers.
He says if he wins the championship, he and Rocky could be off to the Westminister dog show in New York City, which Larson says, is the dream of all dog handlers.
