KENNEWICK, Wash.- Washington winemakers converged at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick Tuesday for their annual industry summit.
An estimated 200 winemakers from around the state met to talk about the future of the industry and the issues affecting it.
Washington's wine industry has exploded in recent years, peaking interest for this third annual summit.
"We just finished a wonderful harvest and crush, and so it's a good time to bring the industry together to kind of reflect where we've been and also, to more importantly talk about where we're going," said Robin Pollard, Executive Director of the Washington Wine Commission.
Also on the discussion table was the new talk of putting nutrition facts on wine labels.
The state is now home to about 530 wineries.
It's a more than one-billion dollar a year industry in Washington.
