KENNEWICK, Wash.--The Washington State Department of Health and Washington's Lottery have teamed up this year in an effort to battle the flu.
The peak of flu season won't actually hit Washington til January, but flu shots are available as early as Wednesday at your local grocery store.
It's now more convenient than ever to get a shot, and the local health doctor is encouraging everyone to get a flu shot to prevent sickness.
"We're in favor of making it available freely to the public and when you make it more available and more convenient, we can get more shots into people and that's what we're all about," said Dr. Larry Jecha, of the Benton-Franklin Health Department
Flu shots will be available this Friday and Saturday at Safeway and Albertson's stores in both Kennewick and Richland.
The cost is between twenty eight and thirty dollars. Walk-in appointments are welcome.
