YAKIMA, Wash - Preparing for snow, starts long before the first flakes ever fall.
The snow didn't start falling in Yakima until late Wednesday afternoon but around the city people were getting ready.
"We are making sure our trucks are full of fuel, and our plows have been on for two weeks," said Don Friedt, a grounds keeper with the West Valley School District.
Joel Radillo of Senske Lawn and Tree Care say they too are ready. "At one inch, we start plowing."
Tuesday night, the City of Yakima began pre-treating area roads in hopes of preventing slick driving surfaces.
With more than three inches of snow expected, there will be a lot to do over the next 48hours.
