RICHLAND, Wash. -- Richland Police have arrested another suspect in connection with the truck that exploded in Richland Friday.
A 17 year old female from Zillah was arrested along with Angela and Joann Ranes.
All three have been booked in to the Benton County Jail for felony fuel theft. Richland Police say both Angela and Joann have lengthy criminal histories. Police say the Conoco lost over $3,000 dollars in gas.
Friday's fire was just feet away from the Conoco gas station near Knight Street and Stevens Drive in Richland. Richland Police say the it began at about 11 pm when mother and daughter Joann and Angela Ranes were trying to syphon gas from the station.
Soon after, people said they began hearing explosions. Fortunately, firefighters were able to keep the fire confined to the U-Haul truck and it did not reach the gas pumps or the station itself.
Firefighters say the 12 55-gallon drums full of gasoline is what kept the fire going so long.
