PASCO, Wash.-- The Tri-Cities Animal Shelter in Pasco is being happily surprised with an unexpected donation.
Bill and Annie Stokes, two richland residents, have made a $2,100 donation. This takes care of the adoption fee for 30 dogs.
The pre-paid adoption program covers dogs who have already been neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated. The shelter will also provide a free-vet check and food coupons.
This Richland couple has adopted in the past, but wants to do something a little more special this time.
"For my wife and I, we decided that this was our Christmas present to each other," said Bill Stokes. "To kick in and do this, so that the little guys would have homes and have their own Christmas as well."
Bill says it was his wife who took the initiative to make the donation. They hope this Christmas season instead of getting the latest electronic gadget, people give a dog in need the gift of a new home.
