Emotional Testimony in Samolyuk Murder Trial

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.- More testimony Tuesday in the murder trial for Igor Samolyuk.

The prosecution began building their case that this wasn't the first time Igor had assaulted his wife Yana.

Prosecutors put two Kennewick police officers on the stand to testify about a verbal argument they were dispatched to just hours prior to the killing.

Officers say there were no signs of abuse at the time, but Yana's sister documented earlier days when she says she saw the bruises from igor beating her.

"She said that Igor had hit me or beat me, I can't remember exactly how she expressed it.  She said, yeah, we're going to the police," said Viktoriy Kokadeyeva, Yana's sister.

Jurors also heard a 911 call Igor made just hours earlier to get officers to come to that argument earlier in the day.

In that call Igor claimed Yana was drunk and an unfit mother.

Officers testified that there was no evidence yana had been drinking at the time.
