KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Local businesses got together to thank elected officials for their commitment to the community.
The Tri-City Regional Chamber and The Home Builders Association have made some of these conversations possible.
At the meeting were representatives from the City of Kennewick and General Hospital. Organizers say they hope this event will open doors for more fluid communication.
"We talk about water issues, we talk about economic growth and how to best foster that in the Tri-Cities," said Jeff Losey, Executive Director of the Tri-Cities Home Builders Association.
Over seventy elected officials attended the event, representing local and state government.
Before the reception they got to talk one-on-one with some of these business leaders, to adress their concerns.
Some of the issues on the table include global climate change, higher education and health care.
Event organizers say attendance this year was much higher than in the past.
