Investigators Give Bloody Testimony in Samolyuk Trial
KENNEWICK, Wash.- Testimony continued Wednesday in the trial against accused killer Igor Samolyuk.
A group of forensic investigators testified about blood splatter found in the car after the killing.
Investigators say the splatter indicates high force was used in the stabbing, and a cell phone found in the car indicates interesting results.
"The cloth strap of the cell phone, and that gave a negative result, one area was on the outside of the cell phone, and it gave a positive result, another area was a very small spot on the number six of the phone, and it also gave a positive result," said one investigator.
Samolyuk is accused of stabbing his wife to death in July 2006 after apparent arguments over the care of their newborn baby.
His defense admits he killed her, but says a head injury affected his judgement.
