RICHLAND, Wash. -- WSU Tri-Cities nursing students were handed their diplomas tonight as the program's 4th graduating class.
Kay Olsen was one of the students who got a bachelor's degree in nursing. She is a mother of three who, after being a stay at home mom, decided to pursue a career in nursing.
She says she is excited at all the places you can take a nursing degree.
Olsen says, "The opportunities are absolutely endless. You can use a nursing career in so many different areas. You can teach, work in a hospital, or work in health departments."
WSU leaders say they are especially proud of this class because they believe many of them will stay in the Tri-Cities and work. They also say in our state and across the country there's a shortage in nurses.
