KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-Cities Fever announces that WR/DB LaMonte Jones has been assigned to the team by the af2 league office. Jones played with the former af2 Everett Hawks, and the Central Valley Coyotes.
Jones, 5'10", 185 lbs, played last season with the former Everett Hawks. Jones had his most impressive year in 2006 with the Coyotes, by winning the US Army Ironman of the year award. He recorded 107 receptions, 1,419 yards, and 40 receiving TDs. More stats include 2 kick returns for TDs, 26.5 tackles and recorded 3 interceptions in his Ironman year. He also ranked third in the af2 in 2006 with 258 points. Jones played college ball with Fresno City College and caught 35 passes for 654 yards and 6 touchdowns.
DB/WR Raschard Dodd-Masters has been assigned to the team by the af2 league office. Dodd-Masters played in 15 games for the Fever in 2007
Dodd-Masters finished the 2007 season 2nd on the team in tackles with 68.5. He also recorded four interceptions for 109 yards. He returned two for touchdowns. Dodd-Masters also contributed on the kickoff return team with 17 returns for 255 yards. Masters played for the University of Nevada Las Vegas from 2000-2004. In his final season with the Rebels, Dodd-Masters played in 10 games and recorded 43 tackles, a sack, and fumble recovery.
Last week J.R. Thomas was assigned to the team. All players still have a chance to make an AFL roster before March 15.
