Man Out $3,300 in Gift Cards

RICHLAND, Wash. -- A Richland man tries to buy $3,300 worth of gift cards online and he now says he is a victim of a scam.

Jerry Nielsen is the owner of Nielsen's Video Games in Richland. He says at the beginning of November, he sent in a check to a company called Otartel, which promised to sell him gift cards from major companies, at a discount.

He says his check cleared on November 14th and he should have had the cards on the 15th.

He says he has contacted the number listed on the website, but the man at the number, named Anatoly Ryvkin says he just created the website and doesn't know who runs the Otartel business.

Nielsen says since he talked to the man from the Otartel website, the website has been shut down.

But, he believes that many others may be out there waiting for gift cards that have yet to come. Nielsen says he still has a slight hope that the cards will be sent, but, that really, he doesn't think he'll see his money ever again.
