PASCO, Wash.--The United States Postal Service will be collecting mail on Sundays, but only for the next week.
This will help postal staff get a head start on all the holiday volume. Last year on December 10th and 17th, the Pasco processing facility picked up close to 1.5 million pieces of mail.
Only mail put into blue collection boxes will be picked-up on Sunday. If your sending letters or other items this holiday season, here are some recommended tips.
"When their wrapping, of course they use a good sturdy box, make sure they have an address on the inside of the box as well as the outside of the box," says Connie Beutler, Customer Service Supervisor. Use good wrapping tape, strapping tape."
Beutler also recommends buying insurance for your packages to protect the value of the contents.
The postal service will also continue to deliver Express mail on Sundays.
